This Niwot family wanted a porch upgrade, and they got just that with their new deck remodel. We knew that eliminating the front-facing railing and adding horizontal railing along the sides would open up the space and make it feel larger.

To complement their home’s cozy and quaint feel, we recommended a light brown color for the decking and a contrasting darker brown for the picture frame border and drink rail. The posts and header were painted a cool brown to coordinate with the space.
The durable metal railings along the perimeter have a modern, elevated feel that adds to the overall aesthetic of the remodel. In addition, the drink rail is perfect for entertaining, providing a convenient way for guests to relax in the space while having somewhere to set their drinks down.
We installed a hidden fastener system and used color-match screws for a seamless look, and beautiful composite steps replaced the small and outdated wooden ones. The project was completed within the family’s budget of $25,000, and they now have the outdoor space of their dreams.
