Our process is built to prioritize your comfort and peace of mind. Our team of experts will listen to your wants and needs for the space, create a fully detailed design plan, break ground on your construction project, and fully install your deck with complete adherence to safety best practices, your local ordinances and regulations, and style preferences. Our seven-step process is as follows:

1. Get in Touch
Fill out our online form or call our friendly front office team to get started. We’ll contact you within 48 hours.
2. Discuss Your Deck Over the Phone
Talk to one of our project representatives about your design preferences, your budget, and your general expectations for the space. Based on that conversation, and assuming we are a good match, we’ll schedule a site visit to help guide the estimate.
3. Have an On-Site Consultation
We’ll arrive on-site to discuss your ideal outdoor space in more detail, assess and photograph your background, and take measurements and notes to start building out a thorough design plan. Our team will send you an interactive proposal within three to five business days of the onsite consultation via email.
4. Finalize the Proposal and Agreement
We’ll send you a detailed project agreement with the scope of work, a price breakdown for each line item, a tentative work schedule, a payment schedule, and other details of the project. 20% of the project cost will be due upon signing as a down payment, and 30% of the project will be due at the start of the construction phase. Depending on the size of your project, the remainder of the cost will be broken down into two or three more payments across the remainder of the construction phase.
5. Planning and Design Begins
This phase starts with pre-production, which includes:
- 2D/3D design rendering and construction drawings
- Permit preparation and filing (when applicable)
- Ordering and procuring materials prior to installation
Engineering (when applicable)
Our designer will review the contract and create some combination of 2D or 3D renderings and/or construction drawings for your review. After obtaining your approval, we’ll either send it to engineering or submit your permit when applicable. The start date will be based on when the permit is approved, the weather, and the timing of the project ahead of yours in the queue.
6. We Produce and Install Your Deck
Our team will break ground on construction and provide you with weekly recaps as part of our “O’Keefe Built Once-a-Week Promise”. You’ll also have continuous access to project progress and updates through our project management software, JobTread.
7. Project Wrap-Up
Once your project is complete, our Client Satisfaction Manager will meet with you to ensure that you are happy with your new space. We’ll gather your feedback and pass it along to our team. Our process is designed to ensure you have the ultimate outdoor oasis in your backyard and that our services exceed your expectations.
