Composite decking is ideal for the Colorado climate. Unlike hardwood decking, which requires regular sanding & staining, composite decking should not require maintenance if installed properly by a reputable company.

O’Keefe Built will not be the cheapest company, nor do we try to be. We are laser-focused on building the highest quality projects with our highly experienced Master Carpenters. We specialize in custom decks with composite decking materials in particular – preferred in the Colorado climate. We use high-quality framing materials that allow for consistency in our deck building and prevent sliding and warping of composite decking boards (something many other companies do NOT do). Quite simply, our decks last longer and are built to a higher standard.

We have an in-house designer who can create 3D renderings & engineering.

Not all jobs require permits but for those that do, we are happy to take on the permitting process. Costs vary by jurisdiction and we add an administration fee for work done to prepare related documents.

O’Keefe Built offers a 2-year craftsmanship warranty. Below are the additional product warranties that vary depending on the final product that is chosen.

It typically takes us 3-5 business days to prepare a line-item estimate following the initial site visit.

Frequently Asked Questions About Building a Deck in Winter

Get your Outdoor Living and Deck Building questions answered

Any temperature below 50°F is too cold to stain a deck. While cooler temperatures and low humidity can help you avoid cracking, peeling, or streaking, freezing temperatures can interfere with adhesion.
Applying stain to your deck when it’s too cold (Below 50°F) can interfere with the cure of the coating. This can lead to adhesion and durability issues like cracking and peeling.
Wood is most likely to expand in the summer. High temperatures and direct sunlight can cause swells, warps, cracking, and splintering. In contrast, the winter’s colder temperatures prevent wood from expanding.
Yes, you can install composite decking in cold weather! Because composite decking is resistant to moisture and freezing temperatures, it doesn’t need to be sealed or winterized. Not to mention, the hard ground makes digging post holes and pouring concrete footings easier. These advantages make both Autumn and Winter perfect for installing your composite decking
